Tanya knows how to make us feel special. We were sitting on our big blanket, having a picnic (yes, really) at Tunnel Park a few weeks ago, when she called to tell us that she was recently engaged, and although they’re not getting married until the last half of next year and she didn’t have anything else picked out just yet, she knew she wanted engagement pictures–with us–pronto! And that, in case you were wondering, made our afternoon!

So, after one rain-out, we met on a Saturday afternoon with just enough sun for our time at the park and a bit of rain downtown for that extra dash of romance, and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Tanya and Ryan. Our favorites:

Love these two… so springy!

This one has to be my favorite.

We can’t take credit for this next one, truly. We were in between pictures when Ryan struck this pose, and we immediately knew it was gold. So classic.

If you’re ever wondering what good engagement session wear is, you really can’t beat the Little Black Dress (for ladies, obviously).

Tanya’s only request (besides “springy” and “romantic”) was the picture of the left, but we loved their corresponding top halves, too.

Melissa and Jerry’s engagement session is up next (really, really soon!)

Brandi: You really hit the mark with springy and romantic.. That's exactly what these are! What a cute couple.

Spring Romance

May 4, 2010

We spent Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor with Melissa and Jerry, talking about everything from bubble tea to Melissa’s graduation the day before, exploring campus, and–of course–photographing their sweet romance.

We’ll be posting more favorites soon!

melissa: these are so beautiful... you guys made us look good!! hahaha. :) we can't wait to see more!!

Happy in Love

May 1, 2010

I couldn’t resist posting just one from our session with Tanya and Ryan earlier this evening. We had so much fun, and the weather was perfect despite a few drops of rain. We will be editing the rest over the next few days, so check back soon!

Happy May (with rainstorms and flowers and warm sun on your back) to you all!

As we ate our ginormous strawberry shortcake at Ivanhoe’s with Amy and Joe, we heard about the night he proposed. What began as a scavenger hunt for Amy led her to downtown Indy, where she finally met Joe at the fifty yard line at Lucas Oil Stadium (home of the Colts, for any non-Midwesterners out there!) He proposed there, midfield, but before they could take their romantic carriage ride through downtown, they both scored a few fake touchdowns while they had the entire stadium to themselves. And that’s who Amy and Joe are–two thoughtful people whose relationship is filled with as much laughter and light-heartedness as romance.

Our favorites from the wonderful (yes, laughter-filled!) spring evening with them:

Okay… one more.

Yeah, these two are the same pose and the same place (like the picture in the sneak peek, too!), but I love both of these… I took the first one, Leandra, the second.

Across from Taylor, there was a grove of beautiful blossoming trees, so we knew we wanted to end the session there.

Thanks, you two, for opening our eyes to the wonders of Ivanhoe’s and for sharing your evening with us! Can’t wait for the wedding in July!
